To teach Gen Z how to vote in Brazil, Politize created a Fortnite Map utilizing native tools from the game to explain which documents they need to have, where their polling stations are and the step by step of using the electronic machine to vote. A process that was supposed to be boring and bureaucratic is now fun and easy to learn.

A poll station at Fortnite’s map.

The results:

More than 850 thousand people learned how to vote for the first time

Gamers spent on average 17 minutes playing the map

Generating media coverage that burst the gaming bubble and generated even more awareness

And what really matters:

Brazil saw a 51% growth on first time voters from the last election

The highest ever growth historically

With a record of 1.7 million youngsters going to the polls

Proving that when you play it right, democracy wins
